Personal Peak

Sometimes it may seem that there isn't enough time to do everything that you need to. We all have witnessed endless meetings that do little but waste everyone’s time, the constant flow of e-mails calling from your inbox that distract and divert you, then repeated requests for those ‘one off’ urgent tasks or rapidly diminishing deadlines. This can lead to a build-up of stress and over time it can be harmful and result in poor performance. Once we are able to understand and prioritise our business goals we can identify ways to improve the quality and effectiveness our time, then we can begin to adjust our routines and patterns of behaviour to reduce any time-related stress in our lives.

A Leader cannot lead others until they manage themselves. The team can operate more efficiently when given the tools to manage themselves. This programme is for improving personal efficiency at all levels of the business, especially when used in conjunction with the Peak Team or Peak Leadership programmes.

Peak Team

In business the word ‘team’ is often misused to describe dysfunctional committees that take two steps back for every one forward, groups that just do not come together for the better of the company, or project teams that engage in wishful ‘blue sky’ thinking rather than honest analysis. Anyone who has been part of any organisation — anything from a large international company to a small local council department — has experienced such behaviours that can occur when human beings try to work together in groups.

But does teamwork have to be a lost cause? Do we have to rely solely on the charismatic leader or the creative genius to squeeze satisfactory results from a mediocre workforce? Definitely not. The best chefs will testify they can only work with great ingredients. So too, our leaders can be enabled to achieve much more if we spend time developing the team. In fact research shows that almost every decision of consequence is either made or supported by a group, so it certainly pays to invest in improving the team’s understanding of the business and their accountabilities.

All team members must know what is expected of them. This programme introduces the team ethos so admired in the UK armed forces, adapted so your team know how to perform ‘at peak’ to support management and business success.

Peak Experience

It is too easy for companies to spend money on team building activities or team bonding days only to find that weeks later all that was remembered were ‘fun days out’. With Peak Experience you get outdoor development that gives every single attendee a glimpse of their potential as individuals, team members and leaders.

Typically the day starts with training in some of the basic skills so everyone has an understanding of what lies ahead and also to ensure they share a benchmark level of knowledge from which to draw. The team are given specific challenges to practise their skills, leadership and team working. These activities are designed and supervised so that even the most junior of employees can have a go at leadership, so they can fully appreciate what it is like to be ‘in charge’. Also leaders can be reminded how it feels to follow!

As the day develops though so too do the challenges, as realistic scenarios are introduced for the attendees to control, manage and lead themselves. Everyone is also encouraged to analyse the experiences during periods of reflection so that they can relate what they have learned to the work place,

This is the ultimate experience to test and develop managers and their team – or both together. It is great as an opportunity for people who do normally interact on a regularly basis to do so in a fun, safe and exciting environment.
