Great to see all those who made time to show support and respect at Remembrance Day last weekend.
After a tough time myself with misfortune, medical issues, and recent surgery, I was relieved and proud to play my small part by being on parade. Though I was particularly lifted when I noticed one particular group in attendance that day...The young kids.
Despite the cold during our event, the youngsters marched with the parade, then stood patiently and quietly during the service. They seemed aware of the emotion and importance to others, so could teach some adults about respect! I certainly respected them, and felt my years of service was vindicated and made even more worthwhile by seeing such young energetic kids conducting themselves impeccably throughout.
So well done to the youngsters themselves, but also to the parents, teachers, and group leaders who taught these kids such commendable core values. Whilst the day boosted my positivity, there was also learning I wish to share:
For a better future, invest in our youngsters.
