Resilience during Covid -19

The UK is on lockdown, the armed forces are already helping in the fight against the new invisible enemy called coronavirus.  It is a war not a battle so is going to be marathon not a sprint, though it will feel like the pace of a sprint all the time. This is evident as the NHS, civilian key workers and armed forces - in particular the Reserves - are being mobilised.  An immediate response is triggered but we see that intelligent mobilisation includes ramping up but not using up all the resources in one go.  This helps put some resilience into the fight.  We are still learning about the enemy so can't send everyone into the frontline straight away, there will be casualties and the need to replace them.  Tough decisions for any leaders, but the overriding long term strategy has to be considered rather than throw everything into every tactical battle. As mentioned in previous articles; all leaders will make mistakes, all leaders will face adversity; good leaders need to be resilient to keep the team moving toward strategic goals.
