Developing Resilience

I recently ran a course for a small group of armed forces on building resilience, sharing what I learned from the US Marine Corps and Navy Seals.  Despite most service men and women being good at it, I was surprised that no-one could define what it meant. Though it was great that they all understood what it wasn't!  It isn't about winning, being strong, or not being affected by circumstances.  Resilience is about how you respond positively to stress.  Specifically, how you learn, reframe, reshape and move forwards. If we ask ourselves those questions when under stress, adversity or failure, we can develop to become more resilient.
